The National Roller Derby Selection of Norway is announcing vacant positions for the Team Norway Staff for the World Cup of 2025
Info about Team Norway
The mandate of Team Norway is managed by the Team Staff. Team Norway will represent Norway and Norwegian Roller Derby in international tournaments and games.
Team Norway should ideally exist as an extended group of 30-40 players, from different leagues in Norway. These players are all considered relevant for the final team election of 20 players for tournament.
Team Norway players who are not ready for the final selection are privileged to seek guidance and experience through the Team Staff and the training camps of Team Norway. The large group will create stability for Team Norway as an organization over time. Also, it will benefit the larger picture of Roller Derby Norway, giving talented leagues the benefit of participating at training camps.
Info about the vacant Team Staff positions
The main responsibilities of the team are to create a large enough group of players, who are coordinated and rehearsed together, who the Team Staff may choose their final selection of players from for the games of World Cup 2025.
Team Staff Positions:
- Head Coach
- Assistant Coach
- Team Manager
Team Staff should ideally represent at least two different Roller Derby leagues in Norway.
Head Coach expectations and criteria:
- Shall hold prior experience as a trainer and coach in Roller Derby.
- Can plan and implement tryouts for Team Norway in collaboration with Assistant Coach.
- Can have the main responsibility of maintaining the athletic development of Team Norway in collaboration with Assistant Coach. This includes the enablement of scrimmage at training camps.
- Can plan and implement training camps and individual guidance for the selected players.
- May function as the Bench Coach of Team Norway in bouts.
Assistant Coach expectations and criteria:
- Can plan and implement tryouts for Team Norway in collaboration with Head Coach.
- Can maintain the athletic development of Team Norway in collaboration with Head Coach of scrimmage at training camps.
- Can plan and implement training camps and individual guidance for the selected players.
- May function as the Lineup Manager or Bench Coach of Team Norway in bouts.
Team Manager expectations and criteria:
- Shall have the main responsibility for the organization and logistics of Team Norway events.
- Shall have the main responsibility for administrative tasks. This includes finding training premises, administrate the different groups (committees) within Team Norway and is responsible for the logistics of tryouts, training, games, travels, and other similar events.
- May function as the Lineup Manager of Team Norway in bouts
- Is expected to delegate administrative tasks to the players of the team.
